I hate to even bring this up, but this seems to be an intelligent and honest forum... I have read elsewhere that Australia has taken to applying commercial shipping requirements to private yachts checking in. It is reported that high fines and harbor arrests have been occuring. Some say that it is somewhat geographical in seriousness. Most attribute the trouble to the length of time one must make contact before arrival. (Yes, I am aware the the U.S. has tough restrictions for foreign vessels). I am trying to get input from the real folks out there cruising on whether the problem exsists, and how problematic it is?

P.S. - David (Auzzie) I like your post alot, so please don't think I am picking on anyone!
