Default Bali marinas

Hi All,

Can anyone please give me honest feedback about the current status of the marinas in Bali. Is there anywhere suitable for leaving a yacht unattended for several months? What is security like? Do I have to strip the boat of all valuables/electronics? Are there yacht maintenance services available (check lines/bilges, run motor, etc).

Grateful any advice,

Thanks

Mark T

Hi Mark,

I've seen no reponses to the question and have to wonder if there are any Marina's in Bali?

I last visited by yacht in 1993 and we had to anchor in the Benoa 'harbour' - which at that time was little more than a deep cove protected by extensive platform reefs.

If you fail to get feedback here you could also try an email to either Darwin or Fremantle Yacht Clubs in Oz. Both are likely to have cruiser members who may have visited in the past year and can give the required advice.

Good luck

JOHN

Valhalla - thanks for that link.

Mark - this 'club / marina' existed 15 years back in Benoa Harbour and unless things have changed - and they may well have - I'd suggest you may need to engage a boat boy to perhaps live on your vessel whilst you are away.

Again, and as stated this may well have changed, back in the 90's we considered it important to pay such a person even when leaving the boat for one night. Costs were fortunately very very low.

Good luck

JOHN
