Default Help create better charts with TeamSurv

TeamSurv, the community crowd sourced charts project, is on a recruiting drive for more participants.
Whilst we always welcome boats from wherever they are, we are particularly interested in the following areas at the moment:

United Kingdom:
- Weymouth
- Plymouth
- Milford Haven
- West coast of Scotlan
USA:
- ICW
- San Francisco
Arctic

All you need is a GPS and depth sounder. It doesn't cost you anything, and only takes a little of your time.

Have a look at TeamSurv - Home, and click on Join In if it takes your fancy.

Tim

I have a great deal of interest in this, since I bought a house in Wairoa, NZ and the river going through town hasn't been depth surveyed since the days of steamboats. I'd love to run a yacht out of there but don't even know the depth of the bar at the Hawkes Bay entrance. The local yacht club was contacted last visit but they could provide no details except to say that I should try talking to some local fishermen. They mostly sail small dinghies in the river itself.

A project like this is an awesome idea. If I get a chance to contribute some data I certainly will.

I wonder, is there a depth sounder + GPS combo available that can log readings to a memory stick? That would be ideal for the purpose.
