All fuelled and watered up; dive gear and sea kayaks aboard and just popping out to buy some frozen prawns to take with us before heading down to Mico and we'll be ready to cast off tonight for Lizard Island.
Forecast over the next 7 days is for 8 - 13kts SE so it will be a spinnaker run up the coast tonight to Low Isles; pick up a marine park mooring off the lighthouse for a couple of hours sleep before then heading off again mid morning for Hope Isles. Stay there for a couple of days and spear some coral trout and a couple of crayfish and then off to Lizard Island with all the goodies for the yachties christmas lunch on the beach in Watsons Bay.
We'll save you a prawn and some crayfish Aussie! - if you move fast there are still some flights out of Cairns to Lizard by seaplane and you could be joining us floating about the shallows in the inflatable chairs stuffing our faces with seafood as we all complain about what a hard life we live.:lol
Seriously though, to all the Cruiserlog family, we hope you have a great Christmas and New Years and manage to get out on the water for some, if not all of it.
This is the last run for us in Mico as I've mentioned
. On our return we head up to Borneo for more South China Sea cruising. Looking at the weather conditions on the Great Barrier Reef we're really going to miss not having a yacht based here in Oz and I guess we'll probably bring Australis II back a little sooner if we start suffering withdrawals. - Time we tell.
Mind you, all is not lost re Queensland sailing. Have just purchased two kayak sails for our sea kayaks so we'll still have the wind in our ears!
All the best and keep safe out there
Fair winds,
Mico/Australis
