Hi,

Can't help you in yur quest to find shot markers but I use coloured cable ties. Simple, cheap, don't rust and available almost everywhere.

Aye,

Stephen

Check out this link of Budget Marine, http://budgetmarine.com/Catalogue_2007/27.html

They are called Chain Rainbow markers.

There head office is in St Maarten.

Good luck

Or you can use colored wire ties (found at e.g. Home Depot and Lowes). We use the theme 'Red - White - Blue' and double/triple the # of each color as they are repeated. You can feel the tail of a wire tie - stickout out from the chain's link - in the dark if you allow your hand to ride lightly along the chain's surface.

Aye bought and inserted several colored sets of these markers into our new anchor chain a year or two ago.

Since then, the only time I've taken notice of them is when they're laying around on my deck after weighing anchor.

Personally, I do not think they're worth the effort.

But if you're really hard set on getting some of these hard to come by anchor chain marker inserts - I'll gladly sell you the rest of our's, for half price, plus shipping. But please hurry - I'm loosing them pretty quickly and they'll all be gone before the end of the season.
