My headsail blew out totally...destroyed it like confetti ... can't be sewn. I just started the motor and rode it out.... some people are pussies.... have not heard anything about a croc being caught so it might still be about, but croc's don't bother me, I am used to them.

I have had an offer on the boat I am seriously considering.... its damn good and I guess I might accept it depending on how discussions go in the next day or two ... might fly to Asia and pick up another one there... who knows.

I have already been offered spots on two boats. One as navigator and advisor, paid even ... thinking about it but who knows what tomorrow will bring.

I used to do paid deliveries and also know of one or two boats that need delivering but I am thinking Asia is calling ...laughs.

How many you got on the boat?

few boats in asia at the moment some are real bargains
good news about the offer bet you will be sad to see her go
I am at max 8 on board so can afford lose the one or two but I am also set up for solo sailing
to be honest the real money is taking boats back west to east ive been paid between 6-12k a trip to take there boat back to cairns not bad money for 1350 nm some people just cant sail i have found when the wind is against them
Asia is calling me als o as soon as i loop around the Whitsundays ill be off to the solomns then into asia myself want to be in Thailand for xmas

Dunno about if its sold or not yet...might have some news this weekend coming.. I believe one guy is trying to get partial finance at the moment so waiting to hear but 2 are really keen ....

I met up with Ian and he seems a good bloke...

Hey Drew,

Noticed yr looking for crew from Darwin for the Kimberley coast leg.

I'm based in Broome at the moment and have driven up from SA for the season to get a run either up or down the Kimberley coast, not fussed.

I'm happy to fly to Darwin or Whyndam at a days notice if there's a spot available?

I'm a fit, enthusiastic 31yo, really easy going and mad keen to explore the Kimberley this year.
I've had blue water experience having done the run from New cal to Aus, Darwin to Dilli, TI to Saibai in Torres and east and west Bass strait and a circumnavigation of Tassie over the last few years. All be it in sea kayaks but I trust the skills relate somewhat?

Please give me a call or email if you are still looking for crew or if you know of any availabilities I'm keen!

Hey Ben its Lex not Drew who is planning to do the Kimberly's but at this stage the trip is on hold pending the outcome of health concerns of mine ...I am Lex of course...

Hey Drew have you taken up residence at Cape Hotham ...

I wonder if it would have made sense to come back to Fanny Bay ... going the wrong way isn't a lot of fun for the most part. I they to avoid it thats for sure ...

so lex did you end up selling her?
on the run down to echo in the next day or so after the next high passes over hope you are enjoying DARWIN
trying to work out the best shop to stop in at do you recomend golburn or echo for a bit of resupply?
