Trenton or Oswego/Lake Ontario to Philadelphia PA, USA

Hi All,

I have recently came into possession of a Bayfield 29 sailboat, located in Trenton, Ontario, Canada. I live in central NJ currently. I am looking for a partner or two to share the experience (can sleep 3 comfortably) traversing NY canal system (motoring with nightly stops) and thereafter sailing slightly south to Philadelphia. There is no strict schedule / timeline to follow, just looking to have a good / safe time. Anchorages or marinas will be used along the way as needed.

For logistics, I will be arriving in Trenton to begin the journey over the Memorial Day weekend (likely departing for main duck island May 27th). If you were interested, but the passport requirement would be a detriment, I am fine to preform the first day or two of the journey to Oswego, NY alone, and join you there.

The boat is 29 foot, full keel cutter rig. It has been in Canada for most of its life so far. I expect the trip to take 1.5-2 weeks depending on how quickly everyone would like to go. The canal portion of the trip should be very leisurely, the only help I will likely need would be traversing the locks. Once we reach the ocean, we will be actually sailing, possibly with overnight passages, so things will be a little more challenging. Provisioning expenses will be covered, but other personal expenses must be paid by the crew members themselves.
