Just sold the Jeep and the Mini on the same day...how is that for luck?! The good part of the deal is that we can continue using the Jeep till we actually leave since it was a fellow boater that bought it and he lives on his boat on the next gangway over.

Lori is now feeling stresses-out and is having difficulty sleeping. She way doing soooo well too. Her last day at work will be September 5th and we will cast-off either that evening or the next morning to do a 1 month shake-down at the channel islands before we head south.

We are now waiting for our new Lighthouse 1501 windlass...hopefully it will arrive any day now.

Congrats on selling the cars.

Slowly but surely you are severing your contacts with the rat race. I wish you all the best in your new life style.

Congrats!

Good deal on the Jeep, too

Wishing Lori and you calm, soothing thoughts as you go into this last month.

Tell Lori for me that the sleeplessness and worries (real and imagined) start to fade with each mile of sailing. *Go slow, if you don't feel so sure of how you're doing something, do it again. *

I learned splicing. *Fiddly work that I had to focus carefully on, and when at anchor and feeling a bit anxious, I just spliced another line. *

I am so happy for you, wishing you the best of winds, weather, and just joy. *Joy.

Hey thanks everyone!

I wouldn't have thought it would be soooo nerve racking like this at the end. Lots of self doubt, second guessing, are we doing the right thing, should I have given up my job, what if we dont have enough money...etc etc etc.

I plan to stay in touch much more while cruising...I hope ;-)

I'm pretty much running out of stuff to do...knock on wood of course.
