Glad to offer a few Windhoeks but, imho, the best NAM beer is not made in Windhoek but in Swakopmund. Hansa is less well known but beats Windhoek hands down - but it is just a quetion of taste and I prefer Castle to either Windhoek or Hansa. Best is Bosun's Bitter or even Ferryman's Ale; beers made by Mitchell's, the micro-brewery, available at the Firemans, Foresters (Forries) and the Ferryman's, all in Cape Town.
I will try and give you a bit of information, although the advice on beer is propbably the best information I can offer.
When coming to Europe, SA citizens need visas for all EU countries with the exception of the UK and Ireland. You can stay in the EU for up to 3 months without further ado but if you wish to remain longer then you must get a temporary residence permit. You are not allowed to take up employment without a work permit.
Gibraltar is not in the EU so the colony's own immigration rules apply there.
The simplest way of doing things would be to get a multi-entry Schengen visa which covers all EU countries. You should apply for this from the country of first entry into the Schengen Area which, in your case, I suspect will be Spain. This you must have prior to entry. You should apply for it in your own country. I should think that Spain will have a consulate in Cape Town. Pop in next time you are in the Mother City and find out if you can apply for a visa there or if you need to do so at the embassy in Pretoria.
I hope this goes at least some way to answering your questions.
