Although it was a sad reason for me to register here (Gallivanter's personal report about the tsunami), I'm happy to be on board ...
I already recognized some familiar names here ...
one of my motto's is:
the next best thing to owning a boat, is sailing somebody elses ...
maybe that says it all ...
I sail quite a lot, but always on friend's boats (bayhopping along our beautiful Southcoast, Aruba v.v. and Dom. Republic v.v. this yr) ...
I'm looking forward to reading a lot here ...
for info and for fun ...
Greetz,
Anya

Welcome aboard Anya!
Thanks for the introduction.
It is good to have you here. Pull up a pew, grab a drink and enjoy the banter of this international crew.

Welcome, Anya
I have fond memories of Curacao. For example, I was walking along with satchel and backpack and a lady offered me a ride, asked me where I was going, took me there, shopped with me, and when we got back into the car her question was, "now where do you want to go next?" And she was not the exception!
And a pretty town in Willemstad. And rijstaafel. Yes, I could go back there for a visit.
Drinks are on me today.

Erwin, a friend of mine, a cruiser, was waiting at Caracasbay for the bus, when a woman stopped and asked him, where he wanted to go ...
he didn't dare to say "the airport" (too far) so he said: "Willemstad, would that be OK?" ...
a coincidence, she had to go to the airport too ...
her guests arrived, but Erwin's parent's flight was delayed ...
the woman got a ride back home with somebody else and guess what? ...
she gave her car keys to Erwin and said:
"bring my car back tomorrow morning, when I am at work" and she gave him her work address ...
yes, it's a nice island and not just because of these two stories by Jeanne and me ...
