Hi everybody!
My name is siggi and im a 24 year old Icelander, i am currently backpacking for the sake of adventure. Where i go and when is all up to what is where and when, i´ve recently finished a season on a icelandic fishing vessel (longliner). The rough plan of my trip was to sooner or later head to Alaska to try to get a job on a fishing vessel there ( i want to get as far north as possible ), when and how i do not know.
Currently im in faroe island where there has just been a very special festival ( olafsvakan ). On monday the fourth of august i will head to norway, im getting a ride with some guys who are delevering 2 small fishing vessels to a contracor there.
I thought it would be awsome to travel with a yacht for some time, so if anybody has some cool pointers for me that wold be magical to state the least!
I have about 5 years of fishing boat experience. Both in Iceland and New Zealand, i am very adjustable and hardworking. My laungage qualifications are Icelandic, Swedish, Norwegian, English, Danish. My german is ok.
Well there you all have that´s me in a nutshell, well at least a part of me.
If there´s anybody out there that maybe knows a boat or anything that floats that is like located in Europe please drop me a line and lets see what happens.
