I signed up recently after lurking in the shadows for a few months. I read the RSS feed every day and really enjoy the tone and the quality of information and people at this site. Very civil, very generous and helpful. A thanks to the contributors and administrators!
My name is Warren Fraser and I'm currently living and working in Japan. I spent much of '04 and '05 living aboard and sailing Zamansa, a Westsail 28, out of Victoria's Inner Harbor in British Columbia. I returned to Japan in '06 after selling the Westsail only to stumble across an affordable (
) Bristol Channel Cutter 28 for sale in Yokohama. I jumped on it and now tie her up in the backwaters of Yokohama and sail regularly on Tokyo and Sagami Bay.
It has been a life-long dream to raise anchor and go offshore, and now that I have an unambiguously seaworthy vessel my plans are to sail from Japan in 2010 either south to SE Asia via Hong Kong or do the jump to Hawaii then to French Polynesia and then head west. I've some offshore experience sailing from Singapore to Galle via Phuket and short offshore trips out of Yokohama aboard other vessels.
I'm looking forward to continuously learning from others on this site.
All the best,
Warren D. Fraser
s/v Voyager of Yokohama
