Smile Furuno RPD-148NT Chartplotter

Hi I have a navnet2 system on board with a BB unit below and my helm station part of a 1720C system has failed, Furuno in their wisdon have stopped manufacturing this model and I am looking for a working replacement,
Furuno Bangkok want more than the original price by 2 to fix it.
Any body got ideas at all They can supply a new 10inch screen but its too big to fit

Sorry, can't help you with advice other than to say you might find a local electronics shop that can troubleshoot and fix. If you must have that same size unit to fit, you may find yourself just paying them double, unfortunately.

Furuno are a pain in the but
I have now found out that a lot of longliners use this unit for the deck display when they are hauling in lines and the skipper is on the deck as well they use them for their Buoy identificatio n using s system like AIS but not on that frequency so lots of people have a need, Just a ploy to dump new stock on the market
