Default Anyone using Red rum sails?

Hi All,

Is there anyone out there using Red Rum Sails?

I am chasing quotes for a new head sail and Main.

They have come back with a great quote but reviews seem a little thin on the ground.

I must say though the format of the quote returned was great with plenty of information in regards to panelling and such.

Any info would be great

Cheers

Well guys,

I bit the bullet and ordered a new main from China Sails/Red Rum Sails. The price was right and their calculations were absolutely spot on. We shall see how this sail works out.

I am interested to know how they work out for you. I had not heard of the brand and have always used a local sailmaker (Hood trained) or Lee Sails in Hong Kong. Good, inexpensive cruising sails are of interest to everyone on this forum. Please keep us posted.

Can you provide us with the basics. ie. size of sail, type (main or head), class (offshore, inshore, go fast) and cost.
Thanks.

Thumbs up Sails

I was also looking for cheaper priced sails than you normally get quoted. I found a great site a month or so back. The prices are very affordable. I contacted them because they had a new roller furling genoa, a perfect fit for my Catalina 320. The sail is brand new and made by Rolly Tasker in their Thailand factory. They have been building cruising sails for a long time.
The freight was reasonable and having checked my situation with duty etc. I ordered the sail through Paypal.
Hey Presto the sail arrived at my door within a week and what a beauty. I have since fitted it to my boat. A good looking sail and well made. I am very happy. If you are in need of a sail for your boat this year check them out The Sails Shop you may be lucky.

Hey all,
Sail arrived today and I am like the cat that got the canary.
Its is a bloody beautiful example of a cruising main. 8oz bainbridge material, batten cars, 3 reefing points, sail numbers, tell tales, 12.5m x 4.7, loose footed and all for $1600usd delivered to my door. cant wait to take her for a test drive.
Would I use them again.......Absolutely
Cheers
