hi , just found this site at work, anyway we live in nz and the past few years have had a succession of older , cheaper multihulls, and holiday cruised the N E coast of NZ . You don,t have to spend heaps to get out there and do it . Our present boat is a 46ft ex racer that was unused and neglected for the last few years, and we are off this week for a 3 week family holiday.Looking forward to sailing it as i have only sailed 3 days so far on it ,as there was a lot of work needed and still is, top speed was 14 kts without trying, the previous owner won plenty of races and reported 23 kts easy, but i don,t intend to push it too hard or put too much strain on the boat. if u want to see it google marinescene nz i think it is still on there as tl systems. dave tomooh
