Default The Cost to Refit a Catamaran

Over the past few months, I've been compiling a list of real world costs of the repairs to our 42' catamaran. Everything from new electronics, barrier coat sanding, delam repairs, rigging, and much more.

Since so many people ask about costs, I thought it would be informative to some to see a recent cost list or repairs - some done by us, and a lot done by the contractors in and around the boatyard. If you want to know how much we've spent so far, go to:

Catchin' Rays: The cost to refit a Catamaran

and feel free to give me feedback or ask any questions you have.

Kevin

Thanks for the info. Looks like you still have a good value boat that you know works and can trust. Trust is very important in a boat!

Thanks TWRMAN for checking out my blog. Finding a boat that was located inside the continental United States makes it pretty easy to get here and do repairs although it also makes finding one at a decent price much more difficult.

Keep the dream alive and enjoy the search - that was half the fun for us. We surfed the internet for years relentlessly and this was one of the better deals we saw and it came up for sale at the right time.

Kevin,

I looked at your blog, read many of your posts there.

I admire what you are doing.

I also enjoyed your writing. The humor, details, and POV are all entertaining and helpful. The bits on tech stuff, and yucky stuff, and the "real world" observations were all well written, clear and interesting to me. Keep it up!

Also, I looked over the linked page on the refit costs. I found that very helpful. Thanks for sharing that with us.

And, I gotta hand it to you for doing what you have with your family. It is very good to see a family working together. Admirable. Having a supportive spouse and family is so valuable.

And...I also admire your determination to make it all happen (I read about your career change etc.).

I wish you the best of luck and smooth sailing for you and your family.

Steady Hand,

Thanks for all the kind words - it's really nice to hear that people appreciate all the hard work that goes in to the refit and the blog and I'm glad you're enjoying it. It's been such a long time in planning for this stage of our lives and its fun to finally be prepping our boat for the splash. Welcome to the forum and good luck with the pursuit to purchase your own boat - its nice to see a fellow Texan out here chasing the dream.
