I wonder if any of our cruising sailors have any experience with the above store. I have googled Vela Sailing Supplies and can only find reviews written by people who seem to be closely associated with the organisation, and one-time only posts which mimic the above.

Like many others here, I am soon to be spending a lot on chandlery items, but I will only deal with well known and reputable firms. Would appreciate comments from long term CL posters who can provide testimonials for Vela.

The web site looks impressive but when I looked up the address, its in a residential apartment complex. I wonder where they keep their stock, with all their range of stock one would think they have some kind of warehouse.

I tend not to trust those who on their first post push a business of any kind. I also thought there were some kind of rules regarding commercial activities on these pages.

Yup, I think it's another Chinese drop shipment arrangement. Paid up capital zilch, capital equipment = 1 x second hand computer, 1 x desk, 1 x chair, 1 x ashtray, 1 x 1995 hyundai excel.

My name is Rod Favela and I am the director of Vela Sailing Supply.

Sorry to have started here with the left foot.

We are a US based company, currently operating in Frisco, TX (north of Dallas) and soon moving to a larger facility also based in North Texas where we will be able to have a show room and stock more products.
