My friend Priska with whom I stayed in Noosa recently just sent me some old photos. I now have proof that I was actually happy once.

Taken in 1974 the day we went hang gliding at Kurnell sand dunes. The young lady in the picture is Anna, my daughter's mother.

The Saugeen Witch is supposed to be quite a yacht, especially if built in aluminium as some were.

There are two Gazelles here, the 74yo guy who sold me the 20' container has one as well. He rigged it quite unusually with the mast sloped forward 10 degrees. It's a cutter but the main is also on a furler. Should be very easy to operate.

Webb Chiles in SV Gannet has made it to Jamestown, St. Helena today. He predicted three weeks from the day he departed Durban (10th Feb) but went backwards for three days off the Cape of Good Hope so actually a fast passage.

Meanwhile Fatty and Carolyn Goodlander in SV Wild Card are about 500 km NE of the easternmost point of Brazil and have just crossed the equator. They left Luderitz, Namibia the same day.

That's because it is a portal to the underworld. Eat lots of garlic.
Love the Abrolhos.

Just picked up the complete set of RYA Day Skipper Theory materials off Gumtree for $150.00 plus shipping. Not a bad deal. The young lady selling them did her Competent Crew cert and radio licence then got distracted with life.

She's in WA Squizzy, if you ever need crew.

Still up in theislands bopping around... Playing with sea lions and doing the odd bit of fishing. Had to raise the wifi up the mast to get a connection.
Something I have found over the years, Hard to find people who when weather turns to shite are willing and able to go Oh well and read a book for a day or two. Most are like caged lions.

Yes, if it wasn't for beer and television I suspect most people would be stark raving mad. Or maybe because of it?

Fishing sounds like fun, keep on keeping on mate.

Just increased my offer on the catamaran from $70k to $75k but the seller is definitely holding out for the advertised price of $80k.

Lemme see ... the engines are run out, it's illegally moored in another country that's currently under martial law, the mast is lying on the beach unsecured and the deck has soft spots that need fixing. Naah, definitely not worth it.
