Thumbs up

I investedin a Litton EPIRB 406 Litton/Guest 952 battery number 95210400-01 ten years ago

Every one I call says buya new one BUT the Aus $ has collapsed and I need to eat.

I have spent three days on internet (courtesy of an unknown USA citizen) annchored for and aft so I do not lose the signal and can get no help .

It is not allowed to mail this epirb and one WEST coast company will service my EPIRB if I walk in

I am near Annapolis and will sail down the coast to Miami then Cuba arriving November

Does any one know a company along the coast where I can 'Walk in ' withmy (dangerous) EPIRB and get it serviced. I picked up a number in Baltimore from your site but it failed.

Help a poor ancient Australian.

I'm in exactly the same boat, but located in Australia. Anyone manage to figure this out?

Hi Bernie & SpawnyWhippet,

I would suggest trying the US Coast Guard in Bernie's case and the AMSA in SpawnyWhippet's. They are the guys who publish the respective regs for the two countries so they could be expected to advise you both, firstly on whether it is feasible to buy a new battery for such an old unit and secondly whom to approach. Hope you have success.

Regards from Peter
