One of our overseas members has arrived for a stay in Brisbane, the capital city of the state of Queensland. He is seeking up to date information on marinas and yacht clubs. Please respond if you can provide info on marinas regarding cost, facilities, friendliness etc....and as far as yacht clubs go, who has the coldest beer, best bars, friendliest staff, best tucker...usual stuff!
I have not been to Brisbane for a few years (it's 2600 klms as the crow flies from Darwin). Last time though I wandered around the marina at Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron in Manly (ph 3396 8666...578 Royal Esp. Manly) The club was very nice, though a wee bit posh, (I actually saw a bloke wearing a blue blazer with a 'pocket') the service was friendly, the beer cold and it has a nice bar, bistro and a great deck from which to survey the marina and off-the-beach races on the weekend.
Please help if you can.
