It has been suggested that this book be read on this forum, and I was somewhat reluctant to read it as I am of the superstitious type and did not want to fire up King Neptune, BUT ....

There is so much to be learnt from Steve Callahan's experience that this book should be part of your sailing library in fact put it in your grab bag.

I found the book educational, fascinating and at times written in the style of a CRAZY man, which being adrift will do to you (or so I am told). I for one hope I never find myself adrift, but his experience certainly makes me revisit the contents of my grab bag as well as emergency kit.

If you have not read this book, read it and file away Mr Callahan's experiences, it may be useful one day.

The book is no longer being published but can be found.

He also helped with the book CAPSIZED about the tri off New Zealand if memory serves me correctly. Both books are a good read, and in my library. Books like this help us all with how others have survived. Probably for the first 10 years this is just about the only books I read. They can teach us how to handle bad situations, and be prepared for them....i2f
