Woods Banshee for Sale
Duende is a cruiser-racer catamaran designed by Richard & Lillian Woods.
Built by Palamos, Hulls and deck moulded in 1988/89, launched in 1993,and fit out completed in 1994 by first owner. Construction GRP with foam sandwich above waterline knuckle.
Intended as a fast blue water cruising yacht she has the capability to do well in races such as round Britain and Azores and back, Duende won a few trophies around the Channel Islands before we went cruising, see the links below for more race information and Yachting Monthlys’ boat test.
Great for fast cruising or racing Duende has ‘acres’ of deck space (open trampoline foredeck) and is probably the most attractive small catamaran with good living accommodation around. She has a low coachroof profile reducing windage with a large sliding hatch opening into the enormous saloon/lounge area. The lounge and dedicated navigational area have ample sitting headroom and there is full standing head room in hulls. Plenty of stowage and hanging lockers inside.
Shallow draught and kick-up rudders (with stainless steel shafts) enable access to shallow anchorages; whilst substantial centreboards maintain good sailing performance to windward. Tiller cross-bar steering with telescopic extension. Handles well under outboard engine power
UK part 1 (Blue book) registered in the port of Guernsey but imported into NZ in 2004. (No duty or GST to pay)

General
This is a rare opportunity to purchase one of these fast and spacious cruiser racers. As the present owners (since 1995), we have fitted out and maintained Duende to a high standard. Duende has looked after us for many thousands of nautical miles. We made an Atlantic crossing in comfort with crew of two in 1998, best days run 260nm, peak speed 18kts. Our Pacific crossing to New Zealand in 2003 was followed by extensive refurbishing. We have cruised extensively throughout the pacific islands and Australia since.
Duende has had a minor refit this year: new antifouling and a professional rig check(Oct 2011).

Re woods banshee for sale
Hi laforge,
Yes my banshee is still for sail and is located in new Zealand.
I am asking 120,000 nz$ (approx 60,000 gbpounds).
Spring is arriving here so why not escape your northern winter.
Regards
Dennis
