Over the years we have always carried two computers on board. The PC for all our charting software and a Mac for the freelance work. Till now - never the twain did meet and they sat side by side like the Hatfields and the McCoys.

Joy oh joys! the new Mac intel laptops have arrived and we have just picked up a replacement for my dented, scratched and ailing powerbook. The new laptop MAC's can now be booted in PC mode - running Windows XP (we wouldn't touch Vista with a barge pole!). Have now installed all our navigational software and charts on the newest member of our lil crew as a backup system. It even talks to the PC

Still some debate on whether the powerbook fell into the galley sink or was pushed, but until forensics are completed and all witnesses are interviewed the ME will have to live with a 'death by misadventure' finding - cause I'm pleading the 5th!

Fair winds,

Mico
