Hello. I am mtheadmom, new to this forum. As my handle has caused some confusion in other discussion groups let me start by saying it's pronounced "Empty Head Mom" and NOT "Meth Head Mom" as some have mistakenly assumed in the past. So now you know a little bit about me and the troubles I haven't seen.

I did my sailboat sailing many years ago and had the time of my life. I haven't been in a position to do much boating of any kind for a while but I'm sure the opportunity will arise sooner or later. I also spent several years as a professional mariner on tour boats, research vessels, and searching for offshore petroleum/natural gas reserves in the GOM. Alas, since I became an empty head mom, all of this seems like a lifetime ago.

But I am very happy to be here for the stories and the chat and the new things I might learn. I stumbled on to this forum while looking for information on people cruising the Samoan Islands during the recent tsunami. The perspective from the beach and the perspective looking back at the beach can be quite enlightening when combined.

Thanks for hearing me and for having me.

Hi "Mom".

Welcome aboard. It is good to have you hear with this international crew.

Sit back, relax and enjoy the chat but be warned, all the banter about boats will soon be making you desperate to get back to sea again.

Aye // Stephen
